on the way

while working for atmosphere, i was given the fun opportunity to come up with a new look for the firm. above is the atmosphere creative logo. the asterisk icon, is actually the weather symbol for snow. so based upon that, i did some research on the weather and made some more weather symbols to go with the one above in the logo. back when i made them, i knew what they all were associated with. now i just remember a few. anyways, once i came up with these, now what do i do with them? below are a bunch of trials and errors on the way to find the right look.











and tada! above is the final look. the symbols are all floating around with an opacity like what weather does. you may think you have the weather figured out, and then it throws something at you that you didn't expect. it can rain and snow at the same time, or be sunny and raining, or be hot and then storm clouds come rolling in. then the image two above is the secondary pattern, which just uses one color. we made mugs with that pattern on it for xmas.

julia's bday

here is a card i made for my friend julia, who lives in and loves dc. it is based on the dc subway map, which is, in my opinion, the easiest public transportation to navigate in the world.

below are something i made a long time ago working for atmosphere creative. it was for a brochure about what we do, but then i got a chance to redesign their whole look (which i will post later) and so these are now just some pretty patterns.

here is a birthday card i did for my dad. he loves pie, and he loves to make fun of all of our kitties.

valentine's day cards

above are the two cards i made for valentine's day. the first one is for my boyfriend erik, it's a play on our halloween costumes and i always say he's my moon. the second one is for my mom and that's her fat cat gigi who she loves.

once upon a time i had a blog which i would post blogs about frequently. then i got a job, life happened, the holidays came, and things got crazy. so now with things settling down it's time for me to start blogging all those things i should have been blogging these last couple months. so get ready for a ton of posts!

below are a bunch of patterns i made for computers stickers. it was one of the first things i did at my work. they were just thrown together fast and are for lots of different ages, hence the hearts. enjoy!

true water is a fake brand i developed for Hero Surface, a company that provides entertainment industries with artwork and design without copyright issues. one of these days i will print and photograph the labels, but until then, here is the vector work.

these are some example invitations i designed. they aren't actual people or actual events. i designed a bunch and after a while it became rather hard making up the names of imaginary people or families.

scarf designs

it has been a crazy summer so far. first i wasn't here, then i was but with visitors, then my computer broke, then i was swamped with work, and now things have slowed down and i can actually catch up with some things that i probably should have posted to this blog.


these scarf designs i did a couple months back for ellen allen annapolis who i have been working with for a little over a year now doing freelance work. and i did a ton of variations of these scarves in the ellen allen annapolis colors. and there will also be more scarves to come. but here are just a sample of the over 100 scarf designs.

new stationary... now how?

i just made these little stationary cards i was planning on printing, but now i am having some issues figuring all that out. they also need a few adjustments to them but that is easy. i have all these big plans for things but no idea how to actually get it done, or really any money to get things done as well.
